THE U.S. DOL PLANS TO IMPLEMENT WIDESPREAD AUDITS OF THE LODGING INDUSTRY FOR POTENTIAL WAGE AND HOUR LAW VIOLATIONS
AAHOA has learned that the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) recently determined that the lodging industry is a “high risk” arena in which violations of federal wage and hour laws are most likely to occur against industry employees. Plans by the DOL appear to be underway to conduct widespread audits of all U.S. hotels, motels, and resorts to investigate such violations, which could directly impact its members’ businesses and their employees.
